the most tumultuous year of our lives. Michael (my husband) was let go from his corporate job, which was our only source of income at the time as we had three small boys. My youngest was diagnosed with epilepsy and I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. The engine of our car (which was relatively new) blew up. Within six months, we had completely depleted our savings. It felt like we were drowning, that we couldn't catch a break.
Every night in that season, I would look back on my little iPhone 5 and see evidence of JOY in all the photos I was snapping. While in so many ways it seemed like we were failing, we were actually thriving. Our marriage had never been stronger. You could see it in the way we held each other, in the way we looked at each other. Our boys had never been happier, with mommy and daddy home every evening. All the smiles and laughter and games and extra time we had with each other - my insistence on documenting it all taught me so much.

Your Moments are Everything to us.
In this time, we truly learned what a GIFT photographs are. We started dreaming of being able to capture the stories of others. Bringing this gift to so many people and capturing some of the biggest days in people’s lives - we knew that’s where we wanted to be. God had placed this dream in my (Whitney’s) heart. At the same time, God had told Michael to purchase me a camera. It was time! At the time, neither of us knew God was pushing the other in that direction. That year for my birthday, Michael surprised me with my first DSLR. The rest is history!

True connection lights my soul up. To love and be loved, to raise my sweet boys. To experience the adoration of our Creator - there’s nothing like this life. We’ve gotten past my Justin Timberlake 11 year old obsession phase (yes, I did make wedding invitations)... which has freed up space in my heart to obsess over all your memories. Once, my dream was to be an elementary education teacher. Deep down, I think I knew I could never do anything but this job. There’s nothing like it (except maybe marrying Justin Timberlake. JK, I’m married to the most wonderful man in the world) haha!!
